I built Saido for myself first
Hi — I'm Dmytro, the person behind Saido.
I've spent the last decade building products: seven-plus years in growth and SEO, a document SaaS I co-founded and scaled from zero before exiting in 2025, and product work at companies where “ship it this sprint” is not a figure of speech. Different products, same daily reality: more information arrives than any human is supposed to process.
Two streams, one head
There are two streams running through my week.
Work. Calls, discovery interviews, standups, half-formed strategy that shows up while I'm walking somewhere without a laptop. The good thinking almost never happens at the desk.
Learning. Courses, long-form talks, two-hour YouTube deep dives on things I need to understand by Friday.
Both streams produce the same failure. I take notes I never reopen. I remember that someone said something important, but not who, when, or what we decided. I watch a 90-minute video and keep about four minutes of it.
The bottleneck was never having enough information. It was structure.
So I built the two utilities I kept wishing existed
Nothing strategic about it. I automate my own routine work — that's the part of being a product person I genuinely enjoy — and these were the two gaps that kept costing me time.
A note taker that listens to how people actually think.
I talk, it transcribes on device, and it turns the rambling into something with a shape: headings, decisions, open questions, and the tasks I would otherwise have forgotten by evening. Rambling is the input, not the problem.
A YouTube transcript tool.
Paste a link, get the video back as clean, timestamped, searchable text instead of scrubbing a timeline for the one part that mattered. It's how I get through a 90-minute lecture in the time it takes to drink a coffee — and it's free, no account, because it costs me almost nothing to leave it open.
Both existed as personal tools long before they existed as a product. I used them every day for months. Then friends asked for access, and the argument for keeping them to myself stopped making sense.
AI is the reason this exists at all
I'm not interested in AI as a feature to put on a landing page. I'm interested in what it collapses.
Turning messy speech into structured, useful, searchable text used to be a research problem with a team attached to it. Now it's a weekend. The models are good enough, they run on the phone in your pocket, and the cost of building a tool that fixes one specific annoyance has dropped close to zero.
That shift is real and it's temporary in the sense that everyone will have caught up in a few years. Right now there's an open window where a single person can build the thing they need instead of waiting for someone to build it for them. I think you should use it. Saido is my version of using it.
What Saido will and won't do
- Your phone first. Recordings and transcripts are saved on your device before anything else happens. A note can't get lost because a server had a bad day.
- No dashboard to maintain. If a tool needs you to organise it, it's not saving you time. Saido does the structuring.
- One job, done properly. Capture what you said, give it back to you in a usable shape, and get out of the way.
- Priced like a tool, not a platform. You should be able to tell in ten seconds whether it's worth it.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Who makes Saido?
Saido is built by Dmytro Serhiiev, an independent product maker registered in Ukraine and currently working from Bulgaria. No agency, no team of twelve — one person who needed the tool.
Why voice notes?
Because thinking out loud is faster than typing, and most good ideas don't wait until you're at a keyboard.
Is my data private?
Transcription happens on your device and notes are saved to your phone first. Full detail is in the privacy policy. Privacy policy
Still building
Saido is small and it's mine, which means feedback goes straight into the roadmap instead of into a backlog someone will triage next quarter. If something is broken, missing, or almost-right, tell me.
